 One afternoon there were 3 kids playing at their friend's house Michael. The game they were playing was fortnite, call of duty and tekean. When they were playing fortnite they heard people panicking and people running outside because a Tsunami was on its way to kill people. The thing that made the Tsunami come to New york city was people, the reason why i say people was because they put rubbish in the beach so the beach got angry.

The problem that happened was when people caused the Tsunami. So the Tsunami was angry, when the tsunami was angry it flooded New York city. When it came Wesley, Michael, Railey and Maria were drowning so people came and tried to pull all of them up. It wasn't just the four kids that were drowning, it was the babys too and other kids. For the babys it was a bad time. 

The solution was that when the tsunami finished everyone was waiting for the flood to be finished, when the flood was finished everyone was building house’s and getting more food for the people that survived the tsunami. R.I.P for the ones who died.  But Michael, Railey, Wesley and Maria were still alive. It's just that they can’t find their siblings or parents. When they went to their parents house they found their parents their.

Michael said “I hope there are more earthquakes”. “Yea” said Wesley, Railey and maria.

Predator Free 2050

85 million years ago NZ was one of the first countries to split apart from Gondwanaland. Gondwanaland is when all the land in the whole Earth was together in one big country - they split up and became the continents. This meant that the only mammals NZ has, either swan here or flew here. 

Because NZ is an island with no mammals, the birds, insects etc became defenseless (because they had no predators to hide from). Maori and Europeans settlers killed lots of animals, and brought with them predators from other countries (for example possums, rats, stoats, dogs). 

Those predators brought here by settlers, have destroyed our native birds/plants. NZ has one of the worst extinction records of any nation in the world. 

NZ has been trying to control the pests by using traps, poisoning but it hasn’t really worked. We need to work together to control the pests. 

It is everyone’s responsibility to control pests and protect native species - all New Zealanders.

I am Michael and I am a student at Tamaki primary School. I am in Miss Ashley's class.

maui and the fish

Maui dreamed one day he could go fishing with his older brothers.  In the seven seas lies a big fish that would gobble up anyone one who would come even 10 meters close to it. The fish is very fast and has sharp teeth. You could even say that the teeth can cut through anything. But then 4 brothers took the test to hunt down the great fish. One of the brothers' names was Maui. He made a magic hook from his grandpas jaw bone. He went out to the far end of the seas with his brothers. On a very big waka. After they did that Maui casted his magical fish hook out to sea and caught the big giant ika. They pulled and pulled then the big giant fish came out. The big fish was called the north island and the brothers and maui were frozen and made into mountains but maui was the biggest mountain.

Animals that roam under houses

Today we learnt about animals that roam under houses or backyard and also we learnt about how to investigate their footprints and traps. But the best part was touching the skins of the animals that roam in the backyard like. Possums were brought here by an Australian man, Frazer came from the Zoo and he showcased different traps and also Animal skin. One trap left footprints and another trap left bite marks. All of the possums are mammals. We talked about kaitiakitanga guardianship. He said it's kind of like guarding our school. The animals were Hedgehogs, Possums, Rats and Strats.
