The reason why it's important to swim is so that you might drown in the water.
If people don't learn how to swim then swimming will be their biggest fear, the reason why we have school is so we can learn maths, writing and swimming. Cause if you went to the beach or pools and it was deep then you won't drown you will be able to swim. Swimming is important because you will drown or you will be scared. In college we have swimming contests. That's the reason why we have lifeguards so they can save us or kids when they drown.
If you live on land no water then you won't be able to swim. If you know how to swim then you will be confident. So if there was a tsunami/flood or hurricane you would know how to swim and you can go on the mountain. If there was someone drowning a lifeguard would straight away help you. Swimming is a good all-round activity because it: keeps your heart rate up but takes some of the impact stress off your body. builds endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness. provides an all-over body workout, as nearly all of your muscles are used during swimming.
A best friend is a loving and helpful person. It is important to swim because of other people that come where it's landlocked and they might drown because they’re not used to swimming. NZ has over 700 beaches. In 2018 68 people drowned and die (watersafety.org). There are 15,000 km of coastline, making it the 3rd longest coastline in NZ (wikipedia.org). Some people that are new to swimming take swimming lessons at the pools. It is important to swim so you can save one of your family members if you drown.
