Athletics

 Last friday Tamaki Primary had athletics, my team was Tripoli. There are 4 house's called Alamain, Tobruk, Benghazi and number one Tripoli so my team didn't actually come in first place. 

When we got to school, junior kids were waiting for the classes to open so the seniors could paint the junior kids, so they could decorate their house gazebos. when the time hit 9:00 everyone had to go to their classes to mark the role and put our age number on our hands. then we had to walk to our gazebos so we could get ready for the activities. As the time went by Mrs Ashley was ringing the bell after 20 minutes so we can go to different activities. 

When everyone finished their sessions it was morning tea. There were parents with their kids eating and parents with their kids eating. T.P.S was serving ice blocks for 1 dollar and sausage sizzle for 2 dollars. Everyone was just playing around with the stuff and high jump mat. No one was allowed to go to the shops but KIDS!! Were caught going to the shops. After morning tea all of the kids had to pick up rubbish for bonus points. 

When we did racing some kids were cheering and some kids were playing. First the races started with the youngest kids in the school until it went to the eldest in the school.

Each objects have different magnification. red x4, yellow 10x, blue 40x and 100x.

Microscopes cost more than 2k and one of those object pieces cost $200 to $400.

camp

 2020  has been the baddest year for me, because covid 19 and the lockdown happened. My two lockdowns have had its ups and downs. But I've had heaps of fun with my family. My brother came to surprise me and my family, but he was in a hotel. Term 1 was only 8 weeks of school and term 2 was 12 weeks, but 4 weeks of lockdown. The best time that I had with my family was when I played games with them and when I had family night or movie night with them. School had 40 weeks for the whole year. 

Then on Tuesday everyone had to wake up around 7:00 so everyone could go for a beach walk or wait and set up the tables for breakfast. After breakfast all of the kids and teachers went for a meeting. There were 3 groups. 1 group did orienteering and the other group went for kayaking then the last group went for sports. When i had lunch and dinner everyone had a movie night. Miss Ashley called a meeting cause on the first two days most of the kids weren't listening. Stuff was broken, kids were having a fight and then people were sad. When i had lunch i was sitting with davlyn, ehthoo, mathew, wesley and kymani. 

Then on wednesday in the morning everyone had breakfast then the 3 groups went for their orientation, rock climbing, and paddling. For lunch on wednesday we had pasta cake and water. After lunch everyone went to play at the pools, gym and the park. The girls had a party because it was Lily's birthday. And everyone had to sleep early because some boys had a fight. 

On thursday we were supposed to go on a beach walk, and have outside games. But then it was raining the whole entire way. So the only activities we were allowed to do was rock climbing, sports in the gym and fiafia show. Heaps of boys were crying because they were gonna go back home. We were playing team games and activities. Everyone was supposed to sleep at 9:00 clock, but sleep at 11:00 o’clock. And we had marshmallows.

On friday some kids went for a beach walk. Then the other kids were cleaning up their dorms. After breakfast everyone went outside. Then we all had hot dogs for lunch after we had lunch, kids were packing up their bags and went back home. When we had 2 hours back home people were unpacking their bags and going to the hall. Miss sharma said that whoever broke the stuff they had to pay for it.

 What is the best way for kids to take days off from school? Ummm SCHOOL CAMP.

What is the best way for kids to show Whanaungatanga? Hmmm SCHOOL CAMP.

The camp was partially funded by parents, 70$. But the rest was subsidised by the school.

School camp is a good way for kids to take some days off from school and have a rest, and have a break from social media/internet. And give your parents a rest.

It's good for kids to have school camps so they can get to know eachother better. The school camp that i went to was my second time going to camp. The first time  I  went to camp was exciting and fun. Even the other school camp that i went to was fun and exciting, bad things happened but i still liked camp. It's good to take a vacation and go camping. Spend time with other kids and get to know them alot. 

Kids should take a break from the internet/social media, like instagram, games for 5 days or a week. You should make new friends at camp. I took a break from the internet and social media for 5 days and took a break from school. At my camp I bunked with some cool friends Wesley, Havea, Davlyn, Mathew, Kordell, Eh thoo, Railey and Isi. 

The new place that you're gonna see is the nice view, you might be away from your parents for the first time. And camp could be a holiday for you. When I was at my camp it felt like it was 2 weeks but actually it was 5 days. And when I saw the nice view I wanted to take a photo but I didn't have a phone or chromebook there. You will have a great time at camp raglan and you will have activities there. The activities at my camp were great, I got to do rock climbing, flying fox, sports, kayaking and group games. 

The new experience and new skills will be new food, the lullaby, paddle boarding, kayaking, roasting marshmallows, orienteering, slide, beach walk, pool, rock climbing, obstacle course, sheep/cow and contest. The kayaking for me was terrible because I fell in the water and it took like two hours. And walking to the beach was good exercise for me because I lost some weight. And the long slide was scary at first but i got used to it and then i started liking it. The obstacle course was fun but it had poop everywhere and I got electric shock from the electric fence. 

The night walk that I went to was scary but cool at the same time because we had tources to see but didn’t have that many tources. Roasting marshmallows inside was kinda stinky but i hope next time it's not raining that much. The contest that we had was fun and great. I was excited for camp but there was some trouble. 3 windows were broken, two doors were broken, fights were happening, and kids were feeling blue/sad. Leaving parents will be hard for you but you're gonna get used to it like me and my friends. 

Games encourage kids to participate in sports or any contest. Cause i don't like any camp to be like the one i went to. I don't want kids to be sad, I want kids to be happy and excited. Don't stay by yourself, and don't feel like you're lonely because there's other kids around you. And if you want to talk about something talk to a teacher or a best friend/ close friend. Never be by yourself. Go and play with kids. I will never again have something fun in my whole life. Kids will be happy.

Camp

 On Monday 21st of september when camp started the seiners had a trip to camp raglan for two hours. I was sitting next to rudolph. And I was sitting in front of Maria and ana. There was a toilet stop in the gas station. When we made it, everyone had a meeting in the hall. But first we put all of our bags in the hall. When we finished having a meeting all of the kids went to go set up their dorms /beds. Then we all went for a walk to the beach. When Miss Ashley said NOT TO GO IN THE BEACH all the kids went to the beach. Me and my friend Davlyn were the last one to go to the beach. No one listened to Miss Ashley when she said NOT TO GO. then we all went for dinner. When some kids were awake at night time teachers had to go tell them off or move dorms. On the first day of camp a window in the bathroom was already broken.

Swimming

 The reason why it's important to swim is so that you might drown in the water.

If people don't learn how to swim then swimming will be their biggest fear, the reason why we have school is so we can learn maths, writing and swimming. Cause if you went to the beach or pools and it was deep then you won't drown you will be able to swim. Swimming is important because you will drown or you will be scared. In college we have swimming contests. That's the reason why we have lifeguards so they can save us or kids when they drown.

If you live on land no water then you won't be able to swim. If you know how to swim then you will be confident. So if there was a tsunami/flood or hurricane you would know how to swim and you can go on the mountain. If there was someone drowning a lifeguard would straight away help you. Swimming is a good all-round activity because it: keeps your heart rate up but takes some of the impact stress off your body. builds endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness. provides an all-over body workout, as nearly all of your muscles are used during swimming. 

A best friend is a loving and helpful person.  It is important to swim because of other people that come where it's landlocked and they might drown because they’re not used to swimming. NZ has over 700 beaches. In 2018 68 people drowned and die (watersafety.org). There are 15,000 km of coastline, making it the 3rd longest coastline in NZ (wikipedia.org). Some people that are new to swimming take swimming lessons at the pools. It is important to swim so you can save one of your family members if you drown.

A good friend

 A best Friend is a helpful loving Friend. Best friends are trustworthy and show them the right stuff.

A good friend is honest by telling the truth and not lying. A bff shows Honesty by going to their friend and confessing the truth and not gossiping. A friend doesn't backstab you. If your friend lies to you i wouldn’t trust them and i won’t tell them what's happening or not telling them my secrets. A Best friend is always trustworthy no matter what. I will trust my Best friend. A Friend is kind and helpful. If i trust my friend with my netbook and they break it then i would want them to tell them the truth.

When your Best friend is sick I would look after them and if they had a broken leg then i would sit with them and play chatter boxes or slime yuck yuck. If my friend writes bad stuff about me then I will tell them to tell me the truth. My friend always stands up for me. I'm interested in what my friends do in their life. If my friend needs help with something then I will help them. A best friend doesn't hurt your feelings, a friend cheers you up instead. My friends are Wesley, Cedric, Isi, Havea, Kordell, Auckland, Paula, Raymond, Railey and Little kids.

Friends are Honest, Honest enough to tell you the truth just like my Best Friends Wesley and Cedric. A friend doesn't distract you when you're writing or doing a test. A friend is supposed to be a good influence and doesn't force you to do stuff. If a little kid was playing with no one I would go to them and be their good friend forever. Trust is something you value. My Good friend is Wesley and Cedric cause they give me feedback. Wesley and Cedric encourage me to play in tournaments and listen to my ideas. Me and Cedric always walked to our house and played around as we were walking. When i would walk home with Cedric he made me and my sisters and his own sister laugh by saying funny things/jokes. Me Wesley and Cedric are close friends but sometimes when we talk too much we get splitted up. We all look after each other and help each other when one of us is stuck. We would give each other nicknames like the shield or another team name. 

Me cedric and wesley have common interests. We all have friend ships towards each other. We all like the same games and the same sports like Rugby, Touch, Invisible Touch, Fortnite, Cod, Shell shockers and krunker. Me wesley and cedric would always go on the calls so we can talk to each other and play games together. 

It is important for your hauora to have friendships with people your own age. Good friends are Trustworthy helpful and show feedback.

Zebrafish

 Michael - Zebrafish live in a river in india. And zebrafish are transparent. They live in India where there is freshwater. Scientists study zebrafish because they are transparent.  Zebrafish is 2.5cm to 4cm long. In its larval stages it is transparent and as it matures to an adult it develops stripes that run along the length of the body and look blue in colour. The zebrafish are called embryos; the egg has three layers: The single cell. The yolk and the protective membrane. And it takes 3 or 4 days for the egg to hatch and the zebrafish lifespan is 2 to 7 years. After scientists breed about a hundred or thousands of zebrafishes killed them and looked at them under a microscope to study them. E.g cutting the head off the body, sagittal means cutting in half and vertically E.g cutting the left side away from the right side. Different types of dye to see different body parts like the eyes then the scientist do pictures.
