tongan languge week

“Bang boom!” as I ran outside to play beautiful sports games on Wednesday 5th September. Mrs Tafea planned the games for Tongan language week and parents came to help run the games. The games were outside on the field and the concrete area.

My rivals was tipene and leon. When i won i felt excited and happy. When i lost i felt shocked and exhausted.

I played lava tangai. I hopped like a rabbit. I won 2 rounds against Kingston and Kordell. Standing in the bag on the grass felt standing on wobbly jelly and the bag felt like something swallowing me up.

Next I played Lanita. Lanita is a game like baseball where you hit the ball and when you hit it you have to run around the circle. I lele around the circle and just when the ball smacked me and I was out. But I won 3 rounds, but when I won I felt impressed and joyful.

Next I played tolo pato. Tolo pato is a game like dodgeball where people in the middle and 2 people are outside trying to throw the ball at us, when they throw it then we are out. We have to help them get the ball and throw it to the other people. When I got hit from the ball it felt like i got shot and electric shock. I leapt out the way dodging the ball. I won 6 rounds.

My favourite game was tug of war because I beat two people on it.

INTRODUCTION:
WHAT: went to the museum
WHO: Rooms 5,6,7,8. Parent helpers were Lisi and Harriet.
WHEN: Wednesday 12th September 2018.
WHERE: Auckland Museum, The Domain.
WHY: Our inquiry topic is about natural disasters, so went to see the volcano room.
HOW: bus.

PARAGRAPH 1: GOING THERE
  • Did the roll and go into groups - went to the hall. Our parent helpers were Lisi (Lily’s mum) and Harriet (Reigns nana). Mrs F talked to us. Got on the bus.
  • Morning tea, put our bags away, museum people told us the rules.

PARAGRAPH 2: GROUND FLOOR
  • Ancient stuff - century, clothes
  • Maori court - waka, treaty of waitangi, weapons, greenstone, taniwha, tattoo, Marae took a picture. Take our shoes off. Bone. taiaha.
  • Pasifika stuff  - Moana boat, Tonga sign photo, touching the water.

PARAGRAPH 3: FIRST FLOOR
  • Volcano room - shaking, screamed, laughed, rock statue, pumice, obsidian, basalt, lifting up the rocks, musical rocks hit with the hammer, fake volcano and ash cloud, Pompei lady, lava bomb, lava tree, lights flickered, watching the news,
  • Weird and wonderful - kids playing with bones, turtle shells, spiders, kiwi, coloured, cool camera thing, stairs with bean bags, soft animals, fake bats.
  • Dinosaur room - shark hanging from the roof, bones, fossils, eggs, cave, birds, bats. Took a class photo. Kiwi. wetas. Insects. Snakes.

PARAGRAPH 4: TOP FLOOR
  • War stuff - weapons, massive torpedo in a fake submarine, guns, gun noises playing, lots of names of people who died in the wars, aeroplanes - Spitfire and a Zero. prime ministers and presidents pictures. Hitler. World war 2 - benghazi, alamein, allies and axis. Badges that people wore or they earnt. Telephones that you could listen to people talking.
  • Butterfly room - coloured butterflies, took a photo of kids with the wings, getting hungry and tired.

PARAGRAPH 5: LUNCHTIME AND GOING HOME
  • Met down in the lobby, waited for the other classes, went to the field, ate our lunch, played games.
  • Went to the bus at 1.30pm.
  • Came back to school  - arrived at 2pm.

CONCLUSION: HOW I FELT
  • Exhausted but had a really good day.



One morning I went school saying “chehuo”. On the 12th of  september room 5,6,7,8 middle syndicate went to the museum we  on A bus. We went because we learnt about Natural disaster for our inquiry.

We started the roll then we got into groups and our parent helpers were lisiola
(lily's mum) and harriet (reigns Nan).MRS F told us A speech about the rules then we went on the bus to the museum.when we went there we had morning tea then we went in the lobby and the helpers told us all of the rules.

After they said the rules we looked at the ancient stuff and the century (100 years ago),cloths,maori courts,waka treaty waitangi,weapons,greenstone,and we went in a marae then we took a picture,tongan signs.

As we visited a volcano room, the volcano erupted in the room we were all screaming out loud as we Laughed.when it finished people were clapping for no reason.why were they clapping it was just a movie.

War stuff,weapons,massive torpedo.
